Hi, Frank,

Sorry about the failed web link.  I don't know why it didn't work.
This should be a correct address:    http://www.AlanKHunt.com
If not, well ... I don't know, perhaps Yahoo is being rude to you.

I had a fun little correspondence with Glenn Meyers last year ... that is, I think it was last year, if I recall correctly, ... anyway, a while ago.  You might enjoy it, but it's late at this moment and I have an early meeting tomorrow morning, so I'll try to remember to send a bit of it to you tomorrow.  It was friendly, innocuous stuff, so I'm sure Glenn won't mind.  In fact, if you remember Glenn, you might want to say "Hi" to him as well.

I did read your message as well, and will respond, ... not that you need my response ...
... but enough for now ... time to zzzZZZZ.

Alan,

Good to hear from you.  By the way, I tried that web site recommendation of yours, but wasn't successful in finding it.

I went to University of Rochester, undergrad as well as graduate school (MBA).  Probably should have gone to New York, but it's fair to say I was intimidated by the big city.  I had a friend who lived in a group house in suburban Maryland.  D.C.is not a big finance town, but at the time, it was a big COBOL/FORTRAN/JCL town, which I learned working through school.  I figured I could spend a few months looking for  a job in my field, and be able to get a computer job as a fallback, which I needed, as it turned out.  But I've been at Freddie Mac for 16 years now, and it's still a blast.  So it all worked out.

I met my wife Sue at my first job out of school in 1980.  She was a tax accountant at the time, played softball, loved watching sports on TV, drinking beer with the boys - what not to like?  Not that we don't have our moments, of course.  But we're hanging in there.  The kids are great, although I'm just now starting to turn into the dumbest dad on earth in my eldest girl's eyes.

Like I said earlier, good hearing from you.

Hello, Frank,

It's good to hear from you. Thanks for being kind enough to send me a friendly note.

> So you're a Texas guy with more than four kids!
> Congratulations.

Thanks. Yes, I guess I am a Texas guy, and I do have more than four kids. Actually, to be more clear, I have two sons (19, 17) who live with their mom, my first wife, and three more (boy-15, girl-12, boy-10) who live with their dad, the ex-husband of my current wife, who is my third, and, we all earnestly hope and pray, my final wife. Forever and ever, Amen.

> I'm a Maryland guy with three kids, aged 8 through 15.

Well congratulations to you, too.

> So how did you end up in Texas, ...

I actually started in Texas. I was born in Dallas, lived there 4yrs, then Carmel,IN 8yrs, Dallas (again) 2yrs, New Hartford 4yrs, Potsdam,NY 6yrs, Dallas 19yrs, Austin almost 4yrs.

> ... and where did you meet your lucky wife?

I met Jane (1st wife) in college. She was a math major at SUNY Potsdam, while I was in EE at Clarkson in the same town. We were married in 1978 on my BSEE commencement day, after which we stayed in Potsdam until I finished my MSEE in 1980. My best job offer was with TI in Dallas, so we moved there, both worked for TI, raised our two boys together in Carrollton (suburb of N. Dallas) until our separation in 1997.

I took a job in Austin in June of 1999, then remarried, very badly, in October of 1999. That marriage ended almost before it began.

I met my current wife, my luckiest wife by far, on the day after Christmas, December 26, 2000. She is a former Muslim, originally from Karachi Pakistan, but had lived in Houston since 1987. We met online, believe it or not.

I'll stop here, but if you have further curiosity, you are welcome to visit my website (www.AlanKHunt.com), where I hope you will find, at bare minimum, a bit of amusement.

Best wishes to you, and thanks again for writing.

By the way, so what have you been doing since NHHS, what brought you to MD, how'd you meet your wife, etc.?

AKH
